Things worth keeping.

Whenever I chose things, I wanted them to be beautiful, soft and made of something I trust. Every time it turned out I could have two out of three. Pretty, but made of something I did not want close to me. Honest in what they were made of, but not something I wanted to take out of the wardrobe. Soft for the first month.

For a long time I thought that was just how it is. That textiles are things for a while, and there is no point getting attached to them.

And then I noticed that in every home there is one thing everybody keeps coming back to. Worn, washed out, taken everywhere. Nobody chose it to last for years. It simply stayed.

Worth Keeping began
when I stopped settling for two out of three.

Karolina Falkiewicz

I founded Worth Keeping when I was born as a mother myself. I believe children carry a truth that adults spend their whole lives learning again: honesty without calculation, and love that wants nothing in return. This brand is an attempt to hold on to some of that in things that stay.

We knit the blankets in a Polish knitting mill, a workshop with real craft and years of experience. The yarn comes from Italy, from one of the best producers of merino wool. All our patterns are our own, designed only for our fabrics. Between the first idea and the finished piece there are a dozen or so stages: colours, weave, finishing, label. Each checked on its own. You cannot see that in a photo. You see it only when the thing is in your hands.

We do not promise that our things will change your life. They will not. But they will stay with you longer than most things you bought at the same time.

We have our own language and seven motifs that make it up. The swallow, the nest, the butterfly, the bee, lilac, magnolia, the apple with apple blossom. The nest, made to stay. Lilac, the scent of childhood. The swallow, which flies away in order to come back. You will find them one by one on our things, and everything we make next will grow out of them.

Because what matters most is what happens afterwards. A blanket goes home from the hospital, but it also lies on the sofa for ten years. It is there on the first walk and on the last warm grass in September. It goes to grandma, to a sister, to someone you wanted to give something to rather than just buy something for. The robe you put on in the morning with your coffee - after a year you know it better than most things in your wardrobe.

Then it all gets passed on, or goes into the wardrobe. And one day someone will take it out of that wardrobe, and everything will come back.

That is the whole brand. Things worth keeping.

Touch. Closeness. Memory.

Close Ones

We do not have customers. We have people who have been with us from the start and who care as much as we do.

The Close Ones enter the shop twenty-four hours before everyone else. They are first to see new things and first to choose them. Everything we have to offer beyond the regular price goes to them alone. They can buy our samples - pieces that are not in the shop and never will be.

We ask for their opinion before something is made. About colours, patterns, what is missing. Quite a few things at Worth Keeping exist because one of the Close Ones told us they should.

We write to them one by one, not to a crowd. Rarely, and only when we have something to say.
